We started 2026 with a three-dimensional mosaic. Afterwards we presented three very different paintings and a photo, which seems a little bit puzzling.
In occasion of the IX Biennale di Mosaico di Ravenna, we discovered the work of Joanna Ewa Piszczek and her mosaic “Quotidianità” (Everyday life).
Even though Roberta Cavallari’s canvas “Abitare la soglia” (Living on the threshold), is painted in an almost photo-realistic manner, it has many elements, which seem to be more surrealistic than realistic.
Kirsten Klöckner’s painting “Leichtigkeit” (Lightness) is part of her long-term project Wunschprogramm” (programme of wishes). For her contribution to an exhibition in Bodenburg, she questioned local residents about their wishes. Our Artwork of March is Kirsten’s idea of one of the wishes.
Already in May, we dreamed with Ester Grossi about “Una notte, d’estate” (One Summer’s Night). The canvas originates from the long-lasting cooperation between the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale in Spoleto and the artist.
With Dora García we looked up at the night sky over Geneva and wondered about a hole in the real. Her neon-installation “il y a un trou dans le réel.” (there is a hole in the real.) floats above the rooftops of the Swiss city.
Betty Zanelly has explored passages for her exhibition of the same name. We have chosen her image “Übergang zu Europa” (Passage to Europe) as Artwork of July.
With this review of our first six Artworks of the Month, we initiate our summer break. We hope you will enjoy your summer/winter and you will be back with us in September when we present a new artwork of the month.
