After the success of the last year, the second edition of the project Benefit for Artists is online since November 7th. Initiated during the pandemic by the D\u00fcsseldorf based artists Thyra Schmidt<\/a><\/span> and Juergen Staack<\/a><\/span>, in cooperation with TAIFUN Project e.V<\/span>.<\/a>, the intention was from the beginning to start a long-term support for artists. Since the living and working conditions of artists are often precarious, the two founders wanted to create a common action of solidarity beyond the current crisis.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Therefore, they invited 15 professional artists to supply each one artwork. Moreover, each artist nominated one additional creative, so that the number of presented artworks grew to 30. They were presented on a website and could be bought via internet. This year, the 15 proposed artists from last year have chosen each one colleague and the initiators selected 15 further ones. Most of them contributed two artworks. In consequence, there are almost 60 artworks to purchase. Another novelty is that prospective clients could imagine the artworks in a spatial ambiance, due to a virtual exhibition of the oeuvres.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The special point in this project is that all participants will profit of the collaboration, also the ones whose oeuvre might not be sold. 50 % of the proceeds is reserved for the creator of a piece. The rest will be split between all attendees. Besides the financial advantage, the venture permits presence for merited but unjustly unnoted creatives and as well for the renowned. A win-win situation for all.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>With an age-range from mid-thirties to mid-seventies, the oeuvres come from various horizons of artistic creation and approach. Besides drawing, painting, photography and sculpture, there are also installations. Thus, the price spectrum varies from 150 \u20ac up to 18.000 \u20ac. In the artist section of the website, every piece is presented by the usual specifications, a small text about the oeuvre and biographical information about the artist. This permits the public to discover or rediscover fresh talents.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Here is an advantage over conventional offers of the art market, as Thyra Schmidt and Juergen Staack underline. \u201cIt is not a secret that the public sparsely recognises many of within the artist community as prestigious considered creatives.\u201d Therefore, it is only consequent to reinforce the solidarity among colleagues, in order to support each other and allow every professional artist to form an individual canon of works, independent from the traditional art market.<\/p>\n

Since November 7th, the artworks are presented online at www.benefit-for-artists.net<\/a><\/span>. Starting on Sunday the 14th November until Sunday 28th they can be purchased.<\/p>\n
