Her works are shown all over the world in personal and group exhibitions, galleries and art fairs, public and private collections. She was awarded with several international prizes in the United States, Korea, France, Monaco and Italy and held lectures and participated at symposiums in several European countries.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2003 Rebecca went nearly every year to a residency in Europe, Asia, Africa and North and Latin America. Difficult to say if one of her great subjects \u201cJourney\u201d is the original of her travels or if her numerous voyages inspire the subject. In any case her works are dealing with \u201cmeditation of history, traditions and ancient customs in different countries\u201d as \u201can instrument to escape Eurocentric perspective and to offer to the public a new point of active observation and criticism.\u201d (Rebecca\u2019s statement on her&nbsp;<span style=\"color: #2c80aa;\"><a style=\"color: #2c80aa;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.rebeccaballestra.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a><\/span>)<\/p>\n<p>The result of her many sojourns are often site and context specific projects, like the last undertaking: the two-year lasting \u201cJourney into fragility\u201d (www.journeyintofragility.com). Based on Massimo Morasso\u2019s \u201cManifesto for the Earth and Man\u201d Rebecca conceived twelve different projects in twelve different countries, which resulted in a permanent installation on the Isola della Certosa, Venice, inaugurated in May 2015.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the double personal show \u201cJourney into Fragility and La Parole des Anges\u201d with Julien Fiedler, was held at the&nbsp;<span style=\"color: #2c80aa;\"><a style=\"color: #2c80aa;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.palazzomolin.com\/events\/ballestra_friedler_exhibition.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Palazzo Molin<\/a><\/span>, San Marco, Venice in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition, where the \u201c5 minutes free zone\u201d was integrated, was \u201cThe truth of the labyrinth\u201d, a dialog in between Rebecca\u2019s and Julien Fiedler\u2019s works.
